4 music festivals to look forward every summer

4 minutes read

It’s time to shed the coats and the snow boots because summer is finally here, and that means it won’t be long until the hot weather. There’s a lot to look forward during the hot season. Bonfires, s’mores, the beach, lovely weather, and most of all, outdoor summer concerts – when you think of these things, you automatically think of summer.

If you’re a big music lover, summer is the time when most concerts are held, because most young’uns take a break from school. If you’re raring to go but have no idea what to go for, check out the list below. Here are musical festivals this summer that you won’t want to miss.

The Governors Ball Music Festival

Those who are in New York City are familiar with the Governors Ball Music Festival because it is held annually. If you don’t already know, head on to Randall’s Island Park on May 31 to June 2.

Aside from the music festival itself and the banging headliners, like Tyler, the Creator, Lil Wayne, Florence + the Machine, Major Lazer, and the Strokes among others, the festival partners with local nonprofit organizations in New York to give back. Those who’d like to attend but have difficulty purchasing tickets can volunteer at those partner soup kitchens and pantry programs.

The Governors Ball Music Festival starts at eleven in the morning until eleven at night and is considered a rain-or-shine event. The festival recommends attendees to go prepared for any weather. That is, sunscreen, hats, sunglasses for hot weather and umbrellas and boots for rainy days.

Carolina Country Music Fest

If country music is more your thing, then head on to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on June 6 to 9 for the fifth anniversary of the Carolina Country Music Fest. With over 30 music artists, like Thomas Rhett, Florida Georgia Line, and Alabama, gracing the stage, you’ll undoubtedly have the time of your life.

On the night before the official start of the festival, there is a McDonald’s Thursday Night Kick-Off Concert that will start at 6:00 p.m. Those who availed of the 4-Day General Admissions tickets, Super VIP, and Ultimate CCMF Experience can join in. However, those who have purchased after the February cutoff will have to buy separate tickets for the preconcert event.

Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival

For those who are nearer Manchester, Tennesse, the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is coming your way on June 13 to 16, 2019. Music acts like the Lumineers, Cardi B, Childish Gambino, Solange, and many more will be there.

When you’re sharing a beautiful 700-acre farm with thousands of people, it can be a little cramped, so think about sharing a ride with friends and other people to help decongest the area on three of the busiest days in the area.

Aside from a music and entertainment hub, there will be anticipated activities, like camping, yoga, and general arts, and there will be lots of new food you don’t want to miss. It’s not all just fun and games because the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival also highlights some of the most pressing matters here on earth. There are spaces and countless opportunities for you to learn about sustainability and making environmentally conscious choices.

Firefly Music Festival

Out of all the places in the US, you’d expect a music festival with major headliners like Panic! At the Disco, Zedd, and Post Malone to be at prime locations, like in major cities. But no, Firefly Music Festival is held in Dover, Delaware, and it is happening this year on June 21 to June 23 at the Woodlands. The organization has a reason for going off-road because the festival doubles as an onsite camping experience.

One thing to note is that, for the safety of everyone, the festival has a strict bag policy for those who are entering the main festival venue. On the camping grounds, however, you can bring gear, comfort items, as well as food and drinks.

Want to Recreate the Fun Festival Moments?

Ever wonder how a performer on stage gets even more awesome? The answer is in strategic stage lighting. It plays a crucial role in a song or a number.

The chorus to your favorite song can be amplified by the sounds and lights on stage. Lighting techs do their job by synching it with audio through preprogramming or manually pressing the controllers on the fly.

If you ever want to re-create the festival vibe at home for a party, then you don’t have to look any further. High-quality stage lighting and sounds are at the core of the things you need. Do it right, and instead of flying to expensive festivals, you can simply have one right at home with your friends whenever you want to.
